IFMA Atlanta begins our next fiscal year on July 1, and I am excited to work with all of you as we continue many successful programs and initiate a number of new opportunities.   As the 2011-2012 year comes to a close, I am inspired by so much - educational outreach, career assistance, community service involvement, and a great deal more.  None of these accomplishments would be possible without the time and efforts of our Chapter members.

The 2012-2013 Board of Directors is composed of a complementary mix of Professional and Associate members, as well as first-time and seasoned members.  Our focus is to grow and engage Professional members through education, collaboration and recognition.  View our new Board at


Now is an exciting time to become involved in our Chapter for the first time, or to expand your involvement into another area of interest.  Both our Professional and Associate members possess expertise and knowledge that are valuable assets to the Chapter.  All contributions of time and talent are welcome.  This is a short list of some of the programs we are working on for 2012-2013:

  • Thirtieth Anniversary Celebration 
  • Career Mentoring Program - NEW
  • International Association of Continuing Education and Training (IACET) Certification for continuing education units (in addition to CFM maintenance points from IFMA) - NEW
  •  Breakfast meetings - NEW
  • Georgia Institute of Technology (GT) Graduate FM program
  • Southern Polytechnic State University (SPSU) Undergraduate FM program - NEW
  •  Atlanta Workplace 2013
  • Atlanta Better Buildings Challenge - NEW

Speaker: Ryan Ellis serves as a Principal Program Specialist with the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC), working in the area of Traffic and Demand Management (TDM). Mr. Ellis' work centers on the implementation of travel reduction programs in the Atlanta region.

IFMA Atlanta Joins Georgia Center for Nonprofits 2012 Summit

NonprofitSummitWorkshopIn 2008, the IFMA Atlanta Community Services Committee hosted the first annual IFMA Atlanta Nonprofit Facility Summit, a one-day educational event open to all nonprofit organizations in the Atlanta area.  Through presentations from industry professionals that focus on the concerns of nonprofit facilities, participants gain insight into renovating and maintaining their facilities.

NonprofitSummitKeynoteThis year, we partnered with Georgia Center for Nonprofits for their 21st Annual Nonprofit Summit.  Some 500 attendees gathered on May 21 and 22 for two full days of workshops, speeches, panel discussions, and networking.  Through three workshops coordinated by our Community Services Committee, the Facilities track was introduced to the Summit.  Read More

The Best Consultant's Event on June 14th was a huge success!



Associates and Professionals gathered at 5 Seasons to unveil 300 gallons of the "IFMA momma knew" brew.  The brew will be available and marketed by 5 Seasons Brewery for much of the summer.
